Water for Injections acts as a solvent or diluent. You add it to a lyophilised (freeze-dried) powder to reconstitute it into a solution ready for injection. It contains no additives, preservatives, or active ingredients — it's purely a carrier.
Water for Injections has no active effects on its own. Once used to reconstitute a compound, the resulting solution should be clear and free of particles. Always inspect the final solution before use and discard if it looks cloudy or discoloured.
Use only the volume required to reconstitute your chosen compound — typically 1–2ml per vial depending on the product instructions. WFI does not contain bacteriostatic agents, so reconstituted solutions should ideally be used promptly or stored in the refrigerator for a limited time. Always follow the specific guidelines for the compound you are reconstituting.
Keep at room temperature (15–25°C), away from light and moisture. Leave in the original packaging.
