Alprazolam works by boosting the effect of a natural calming chemical in the brain called GABA. This slows down activity in the central nervous system, which reduces feelings of anxiety and tension. The effect comes on fairly quickly, usually within 30 minutes of taking a tablet.
Most people feel calmer and more relaxed within 30 to 60 minutes. Physical symptoms of anxiety such as muscle tension and a racing heart tend to ease off. The effects typically last between 4 and 6 hours.
Alprazolam is intended for short-term use only, typically no longer than 2 to 4 weeks at a time. Stopping abruptly after regular use can cause withdrawal symptoms, so doses should be reduced gradually under medical guidance. It is not used in performance or bodybuilding cycles and should not be combined with alcohol or other central nervous system depressants.
Keep at room temperature (15–25°C), away from light and moisture. Leave in the original packaging.
